Company Remarks

Leader among its peers in extending environmental concerns throughout its supply chain. Buys fish from sustainably managed fisheries and has policy in place (since 1989) not to buy from cattle suppliers who destroy rainforests. After criticism from Greenpeace, also agreed not to purchase soybeans that had been grown on recently deforested land in the Amazon. Also working to end use of antibiotics in food products, reduce pesticides, find more humane slaughtering methods and eliminate styrofoam in packaging.
